What is Long DHI hair transplantation?
Long DHI is a DHI application that focuses on preserving existing long hair as much as possible during hair transplantation. We place the hair follicles with an implanter pen in areas where hair is sparse. Our aim is to take existing hair into consideration when transplanting.
We mostly take hair follicles from the nape area. Then, we place these roots on the hairline or sparse areas we have determined. Just because your hair is long doesn't mean the whole head will never be cut. We plan the preparation of the area where the transplantation will be made and the area where the hair follicles are removed separately.
The main difference between Long DHI and standard DHI is how we work around existing long hair. Both may use an implanter pen. Long DHI does not guarantee a higher graft count or faster recovery.

What do we pay attention to before Long DHI?
We clearly discuss three important issues with you, from the length of your hair to the condition of your donor area.
Recipient Area
We examine the areas where your hair is sparse and the direction of the existing strands. We draw the transplantation line and explain where the roots will be placed.
Shaving in the nape area
We examine the nape area where we will take the roots. If shortening is required, we show you which hair and how much hair will be cut before the operation. We do not apply the same shaving plan to every patient.
Protection of long hair
We explain the contact of long hair strands to the transplantation area and how to wash them after the operation. We also share what to pay attention to when pulling or combing your hair.

How do we prepare before Long DHI?
In our initial consultation, we first discuss your hair loss, the medications you use and the procedures you have undergone before. We examine your scalp and the area where we will remove the roots. Then, we give information about your hairline, the need for shaving and the stages of the operation.
In our Long DHI treatment package pre-operative blood test is available. We consider the necessary tests as part of the preparation for the operation. We remind you that you should not stop taking your prescribed medications on your own, and we encourage you to discuss medical issues with our relevant healthcare team.

How do we support you after Long DHI?
We explain how to wash your hair after the operation, how to protect the transplantation area and how to use your care products. We pay special attention to ensuring that long hair does not rub against the transplantation area and that the roots are not pulled while combing.
Redness, tenderness and crusting may occur in the first days. Some of the transplanted hair strands may fall out in the first weeks; it takes months for new hair to grow. We discuss this process within the scope of our one-year follow-up and consultancy service. If you experience severe pain, fever, discharge or any unexpected complaint, you should contact your healthcare team without delay.

What is Long DHI hair transplantation?
