What areas do we focus on with eyebrow transplantation?
Eyebrow transplantation is a surgical procedure in which we transplant suitable hair follicles to sparse or hairless eyebrow areas. We aim not only to fill the gaps, but also to design the beginning, curve and tail of the eyebrow in harmony with your face.
During the first meeting, we discuss when your eyebrow loss started, whether you have had eyebrow plucking or permanent make-up done before, and what kind of look you want. Partial rarity and almost complete loss of eyebrows do not require the same plan. For this reason, we first examine your skin, your existing eyebrow hairs and the area where we can take roots.
If your eyebrow loss has started recently or is still continuing, we first focus on the cause. In some cases, dermatological examination and treatment may be required before transplantation. Instead of promising you a definitive result regarding suitability, we consider your situation with an evaluation by the relevant physician.
Contact us about eyebrow transplantation ↗How do we plan the natural look in eyebrow transplantation?
We take into account not only the thickness of your eyebrow, but also the direction of growth of individual hairs and their location on your face.
Eyebrow beginning, arch and tail
We draw the inner beginning of your eyebrow, the curve in the middle section and the tail at the outer end according to your facial proportions. We evaluate both eyebrows together and share the design with you.
Hair growth angle and direction
Eyebrow hairs grow at an angle close to the skin and can change direction from the beginning to the tail. We monitor these transitions and the flow of your existing eyebrow hairs as we place the roots.
Fine graft and root selection
Hair strands may be thicker or have different curls than eyebrow hairs. When choosing roots, we compare the hair strand structure and explain the importance of working with suitable single grafts.

Where do we get hair follicles for eyebrow transplantation?
In eyebrow transplantation, we mostly use hair follicles in suitable areas of the neck and head. When choosing roots, we don't just look at how many there are; we also examine the thin hair strand structure, its curl and its compatibility with your eyebrow hairs.
Completing a small section of the eyebrow and reshaping two eyebrows require a different number of grafts. In the initial consultation, we measure the transplantation area, evaluate the capacity of your donor area and discuss the number of grafts that may be needed.
About Graft and Donor Area ↗How is eyebrow transplantation done?
We explain the eyebrow transplantation process in four basic stages, from consultation to first care.
We examine eyebrow loss and your expectations
We discuss sparse areas, the history of your eyebrow loss, your skin condition and previous applications. We schedule the necessary health assessment for eligibility.
We determine the eyebrow drawing together
We draw the beginning, arch and tail parts of the eyebrow. We share the design with you, taking into account the hair directions and your existing eyebrows.
We select and place the roots
We inform you about local anesthesia and donor area preparation. We take the appropriate hair follicles and place them in the transplantation area at angles following the natural direction of the eyebrow.
We Explain the First Aftercare Steps
We explain you personal care instructions on face washing, exfoliation, protecting the eyebrow area and when you can start trimming hairs.

First wash, crusting and eyebrow growth
After the operation, you may notice redness, tenderness, slight swelling or small crusts around the eyebrow. We specifically tell you when to wash for the first time, how to clean the area and what products to use. We ask that you not scratch the eyebrow area or remove the scabs by force.
Some of the transplanted hair may fall out temporarily in the first weeks. New hair growth and change in density develop over months; the first day's image does not show the final result. If you notice increased pain, discharge, or significant worsening, contact our healthcare team without waiting for a scheduled check-up.
Our Post-Operation Patient Guide ↗Why might transplanted eyebrows require shortening?
The hair follicles we use in eyebrow transplantation tend to grow longer than the natural hairs of the eyebrow. For this reason, you may need to shorten your eyebrows from time to time after healing is complete.
We explain when you can return to trimming, make-up, coloring and eyebrow plucking, depending on your current recovery status. In the first days, we ask you not to tweeze the transplantation area, not to pull the hairs, and not to use products without a doctor's recommendation.
Although eyebrow transplantation aims for a long-term appearance, we do not say that all grafts will develop in the same way or that the two eyebrows will be completely symmetrical. We clearly discuss the design and aftercare needs from the very beginning.
Frequently asked questions about eyebrow transplantation
At Istanbul Stella Hair, we answer the most curious questions of our visitors who are researching eyebrow transplantation.
How is eyebrow transplantation done?
First, we examine the shape of your eyebrows, sparse areas and the cause of eyebrow loss. Together we determine the eyebrow line suitable for your face. We take appropriate hair follicles from the donor area and place them, paying attention to the natural direction of the eyebrows and the angle of growth close to the skin.
Where do we get hair follicles for eyebrow transplantation?
We mostly evaluate the thin hair follicles in suitable areas of the neck and head. Not every strand of hair is equally suitable for the eyebrow area. We plan the root selection by comparing the thickness, color and growth direction of your existing eyebrow hairs.
How many grafts are required for eyebrow transplantation?
There is no single graft number valid for everyone. Reshaping two eyebrows with a small gap in one eyebrow does not create the same needs. We examine the transplantation area, current eyebrow density and your donor area and discuss the number of grafts that may be needed.
Is it necessary to cut the transplanted hairs after eyebrow transplantation?
Yes, it may be necessary from time to time. The roots we take from the scalp can continue to grow long. We explain when and how you can care for your eyebrows, depending on your recovery status; we ask you not to apply scissors or tweezers to the transplantation area in the first days.
Does eyebrow transplantation provide a completely symmetrical appearance?
We design both eyebrows together, taking into account your facial proportions and existing hair directions. However, due to the natural asymmetry of the face, skin structure and development of the roots, we do not promise two mathematically exactly the same eyebrows or an exact density.
Can I have a transplant while my eyebrow loss continues?
First, we try to understand the cause of the hair loss. In case of new onset or ongoing losses, skin diseases and other health reasons may be present. We explain that it may not be right to make a transplant decision before the necessary medical examination and treatment is completed.
Can transplantation be performed on eyebrows with scars or old permanent make-up?
We examine these situations separately in the initial consultation. The texture of the scar, the blood supply to the skin, and the area where old applications are located can affect the plan. It does not assume that the same result will be obtained on every trace; we evaluate suitability through the evaluation of the relevant physician.
How long does it take for recovery and new hair growth after eyebrow transplantation?
In the first days, crusting, redness or slight swelling may occur. Some of the transplanted hair may fall out temporarily; new growth develops within months. We ask that you follow the personal instructions given to you for the first wash and care, and contact our healthcare team in case of unusual pain or discharge.
